Lionel: SUPERBASS GP9B #7185BO Gauge In the tradition of the "covered wagons," EMD offered a B unit model for it's GP7 and GP9. B units gave all the same power and performance as a standard GP-9 but saved the costs of cabs and controls. Most roads preferred the flexibility to use their Geeps in single as well as multiple unit service, and only the Pennsylvania and Union Pacific ordered GP9Bs.
