Fantastic example of this colorful and rare set. All original boxes and 99% complete. Missing only 1 canister from the set. Produced in 1957 and 1958 ONLY, this set was Lionel’s attempt to appeal to the female market. All pieces are all original with no touchup or repaint. The set is in fantastic condition. It is very hard to find this set complete and together. A rare find for sure. This could be the centerpiece of your collection. Original manual is complete, but shows signs of wear and has some staining at one end. Very cool 1960’s Lionel Catalog in very good condition. Comes with track as well. -Transformer in the original box. Box is in very good +++ condition or better. Original wiring included. Has a spot near the plug that looks exposed and a few cracks in the line. Untested. -Hopper box 6436-500 is in very good +++ condition or better. Beautiful box! Slight tear on one flap. Train is in like condition with great paint and no damage. I will leave cleaning up to the winning bidder due to the sensitivity of the original paint. -Box Car box 6464-510 is also in very good +++ condition or better. The box has the correct “500” stamping on it.-The 6029 Remote Control track set box is the roughest of the boxes, although still in very good condition. Closing flaps are damaged on both sides, with one side detached, but included. -Original Main box 1587S is in overall good +++ shape for its age and function. A few spilts down the side and some writing on one side, but main flaps are in tact and functional. WOW! Here is a fantastic opportunity to own one of Lionel’s most desirable and collectible Postwar sets! Produced in 1957 and 1958 ONLY, this set was Lionel’s attempt to appeal to the female market. Set #1587S includes #2037 Loco, #1130T-500 Tender, both in pink with blue lettering, #6462-500 Canister car in pink with 4 white canisters, #6464-510 NYC Boxcar in blue/yellow, #6464-515 MKT Katy Lines Boxcar in yellow/blue, #6436-500 L.V Hopper car in purple, #6427 Pennsylvania Caboose in blue, all the original boxes, scarce original set box, original instruction sheet and booklet, and correct original white #1043 Transformer! All pieces are all original with no touchup or repaint ever! The set is in fantastic condition. Not mint, but one of the better examples you will find! The loco and tender are beautiful, with bright clean paint showing very little wear, and only a couple small nicks. The lettering is strong throughout. All trim is intact on both, with one marker light having a chip on the loco. When tested here, the loco ran well both directions, and the light worked. All 5 freight cars are also beautiful, with bright clean paint, and all trim intact with no breaks! The 6436 has a couple small surface scratches, and the boxcars have a couple very tiny nicks on the roofs. All of the steps are intact on the caboose. The set really displays great. It is very hard to find this set complete and together, let alone with all of the original boxes such as this one! The loco box is a brick, with all flaps, and it is sealed on one end. It has an original Madison Hardware sticker on it. The box has the correct “500” stamping on it. The tender box is an absolute brick as well, with all flaps. The 6462 box is very nice and strong, with one missing inner flap, and a missing end flap tongue on the same end. The 6464-510 box is the worst of the boxes, with one end flap missing as seen, and part of the other missing as well. The 6436 box is excellent and strong with all flaps. The 6427 box is a brick with all flaps. There is no box for the 6464-515. The set box is very nice, with a bright visible set label. All flaps are present and intact, but the top has been opened a little differently, as seen, kind of like a hinge, where it bends only on one edge. There is light edge chipping throughout as seen. Very tough set box to find! The transformer is excellent, bright and clean with its original cord, that has one crack. It has not been tested. Please examine photos as they are the best description. WOW! Here is an amazing example of this attractive and desirable prewar o gauge set! This is the late nickel era “Work Train” set. Includes 2-4-2 #263E Loco, 12-wheel #263W Tender, both in light gunmetal with nickel trim, #812 Gondola in light green, with 8 reproduction wooden barrels, #810 Derrick Crane car in yellow/red with green boom, #820 Searchlight car in green/black, #817 Caboose in red, all with nickel trim and plates, all of the correct original boxes, the very scarce original set box, boxed #65 Whistle Controller with scarce original orange tag, and original box of connecting ties! If you are a condition collector of nice complete prewar o gauge sets, this is one for you! The set is all original with no repaint ever. The set is amazing to look at in person. The paint on all pieces is very clean. The trim is all shiny, and the set pops off the shelves! The set is not new mint, it has a few small nicks and small scratches, but very minor and nothing offensive. All trim is intact on the set. When tested here the loco ran excellent both directions. All of the lights worked, and the whistle in the tender worked as well. The crane has all original gears, and the boom gear is partially stripped. It retains its original boom lubrication tag! The tender is correctly stamped underneath as well. This is a set that will look even better in person when you get it. You will not be disappointed! The loco box is a brick with all flaps. It also includes its brick original insert! The tender box is a brick as well with all flaps. It has one partially split corner. Both are correctly stamped GM. All of the freight car boxes are strong and square. One end flap on the 812 has been replaced, and both end flaps on the 820 have been replaced. There are a couple small inner flaps missing. The 810 does not have its insert. The original set box is fantastic. It is strong and square with all flaps intact. It has a beautiful front label with bright set number. There is an internal repair to a couple corners. This is a very difficult to find box, and is almost never seen in this nice of condition! Wow! The 65 controller is in like new condition with a brick original box. It even still has its scarce original orange inspection tag! Please examine photos as they are the best description. This set consists of:1. 5 steam 0-4-0 switcher locomotive (early thin-rim wheels)2. 14 box car 3. 12 gondola car (has different trucks than the other cars)4, 17 caboose5. 15 Pennsylvania tank car6. 13 cattle carSet, being over 100 years old, has some paint loss and cosmetic flaws as shown.Please note the following:1. A couple missing hook couplers (replacements available at nominal cost)2. Locomotive may have had some years ago partial paintwork restoration See pictures for description on this. Cars appear to be largely original.3. Coal bunker on back of steam locomotive has come loose as shown, and needs to be re-attached. Nothing appears broken or missing that I can see, but I'm not an expert on these, so look at the pictures and judge for yourself.I don't have a Standard Gauge layout, but got loco to run when I bench tested with a transformer and test leads.
